With 54 beautiful countries, you will be surprised at just how many new things and places there are to see and do in Africa. This incredibly diverse continent is filled with rich histories, fascinating cultures, an abundance of wildlife, and spectacular sceneries that allow every traveler an amazing travel experience. But as I have mentioned, Africa boasts numerous beautiful places so picking which ones to see first can be challenging. If you are planning to visit the continent and you have no idea where to start, this list will help you. Here are the most unique places to see and adventures you can experience in Africa!

Mountain Climbing in the fascinating mountains of Africa

If you want to go to Africa to climb mountains and witness a magnificent view, then you must start your adventure in the famous Table Mountain, Lions Head, Signal Hill, Cederberg Mountains, or the Chapmans Peak. You will definitely fall in love with the breathtaking view from on top of these mountains. You can also hike in another famous mountain in South Africa, the Drakensberg. Climbing this mountain especially when it is snow-capped in winter will reward you with a spectacular view of the lush forests and valleys below.

Botswana

The Okavango Delta in Botswana is a must-see. This unique and amazing marshland stretches out for some 15,000 square kilometers and has numerous endangered species like the white and black rhinoceros. With its vibrant eco-system that comes alive during its flooding season, no wonder it is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa.

Want to experience diving in the Red Sea? Let's go to Egypt!

Pyramids are the first things we can think of when we talk about Egypt. But this country is more than the great pyramids and the legendary treasures of Tutankhamen. It also has one of the seven wonders of the underwater world: the Red Sea. And take note, this is a world-class diving destination! A dive in the warm red-tinged waters is a unique experience. You will see millions of fish, aesthetic coral reefs, and amazing wreck diving locations.

Be amazed by the Kingdom in the Sky in Lesotho

A high-altitude landlocked kingdom surrounded by the Republic of Africa, Lesotho is the only country in the world (Yup, that's how unique this place is!) to have all its land lying at 1500 meters above sea level! Amazing, isn't it? That is why they called it "Kingdom in the Sky". The best way to explore it? A 4x4 trip! Witness its vast and varied landscapes and be amazed by the unspoiled scenery of the Semonkong Falls and the snow-capped mountains of Maluti.

Your adventure won't be complete without watching a wildlife show in Kenya.

Feast your eyes with millions of wildebeest, antelope, and zebra making their way from the Serengeti National Park to the greener pastors of the Masai Mara. This event will give you an amazing safari experience.

See Baobab trees in Madagascar.

Baobab trees are one of the most popular plant species in Madagascar. The avenue of the Baobab trees is a row of 25 trees that live up to 800 years old! These trees also reach heights of 98 feet. Truly amazing! This remarkable landscape is one of the most visited places in the region.

Would you love to stay on a deserted island in Lake Malawi? Absolutely!

I wonder why Malawi is one of the least visited destinations in Africa. It boasts incredible wildlife, a rich cultural heritage, and alluring landscapes. But I think it is okay if it has fewer visitors than other places in Africa, cause we can have breathtaking sceneries all by ourselves! The crown jewel of Malawi is the Lake Malawi. It is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the place. Spending a few nights on Mumbo Island is a wonderful experience. Mumbo Island is a deserted and pristine tropical island located in Lake Malawi National Park.

I am a hundred percent sure you will enjoy any of these unique and wonderful vacations in Africa. So, include them on your bucket list! Which ones do you plan on visiting first? We love to hear your thoughts. Share them with us in the comment section.
