If you love tea because of the many health benefits they can provide to your body, I'm sure you are gonna love herbs for they are more than just tea. Yup, herbs can also stimulate your scalp, restore hair color, and soften your tresses. This natural hair care product may contain more ingredients than the rest of the DIY natural hair care solutions we shared, but it is still easy to do and very effective. You will be needing:
A pitcher of boiling water
One or more of these herbs:
Thyme (to reduce oiliness)
Chamomile (to soften hair)
Catnip (to promote hair growth)
Parsley (to brighten hair color)
Nettle (to heal dry and flaky scalp)
Rosemary (to bring out natural dark highlights)
Add four tablespoons of chosen herbs to a glass pitcher and pour in boiling water. Let the ingredients steep for about 20 minutes and strain out the herbs. Let the mixture cool and wash and condition your hair as you normally do. Then, pour the herbal hair rinse mixture over your head and let it stay. Do not rinse out.
Who would have thought your favorite avocado and banana can also do wonders for your hair? Yes, you read that right. These super-healthy fruits can be used to condition your tresses. You only need:
1 ripe banana
1 ripe avocado
1 tablespoon wheat germ or olive oil
Mash all the ingredients in a blender or in a bowl and apply it to your hair and scalp. You can also condition only the ends if you want. Then put on a shower cap or wrap your hair in saran wrap for about 15 minutes or longer. This natural hair care product can be used overnight if you want ultra-conditioning. Then rinse the mask out.
If you are a green tea lover and always keep boxes or bags of green tea in your pantry, well, I have great news for you. Did you know that you can use your favorite green tea as a substitute to shampoo? So say goodbye to your drying shampoo and say hello to smooth and healthy hair. Prepare the following ingredients:
2 green tea bags
Apple cider vinegar
A squirt bottle or an empty shampoo bottle
First, boil two cups of water on the stove or in the microwave. When it boils, turn off the heat and steep two green tea bags in the water. Let the bags steep for ten minutes then remove them from the water. Remove any excess water from the bags into the tea. Add two teaspoons of apple cider to the green tea and two teaspoons of honey. Stir the honey in the tea and let it sit until it cools completely. Pour the mixture into a squirt bottle or empty shampoo bottle. Wet your hair with lukewarm water and squirt the mixture on the roots of your tresses. Massage your hair and scalp and squirt more mixture at the ends. Keep massaging. Leave the mixture in your hair for about ten minutes, then rinse with cool water. The apple cider vinegar can be a clarifying agent and it helps to cleanse your hair gently. The honey has antibacterial properties that can help soothe dry or itchy hair.
And that’s it! I hope you already have the ingredients with you so you can start making your own healthy natural hair care products!
